The Ainsdale HotelThe Ainsdale Hotel is a very beautiful and nice hotel in Blackpool. The hotel is always clean and the food is awesome. I regularly stay at hotels in Blackpool UK with my 5 year old daughter, and have stayed in what sounds like the very room you describe. I have never experienced a dirty cup, en-suite, sheet or pillowcase and there's never been any suggestion of a bad smell, "musty" or otherwise. I reckon you have the wrong place.
